Dr. Robert miller

Dr. Robert Miller is a clinical psychologist with a private practice in Vista, Ca. One of his areas of specialization is the treatment of compulsions and addictions. He developed the Pain Release Technique in 2012.    As he began using the PRT in his clinical practice, he realized the profound changes that were happening with his clients.  

Eventually, the feeling of terror was also understood to be the other underlying dynamic creating negative feelings and behaviors.  This this more complete understanding of psychological dynamics lead to the development of the Pain/Terror Release Therapy that can be used to treat many different forms of mental and behavioral problems.  

Dr. Miller is also the developer of the Feeling-State Addiction Protocol (FSAP) which he has been teaching in workshops in the United States, Canada, France, and England. The FSAP is a breaththrough in the treatment of both behavioral and substance addictions, co-dependence, and other compulsive behaviors.

In addition he has experience in the treatment of depression, Bipolar Disorder, and civilian and military PTSD, and relationship problems.


Dr. Miller has an extensive array of education and life experience which he draws on in his psychotherapy practice. He has a B.S. in physics from the University of Texas at Austin and an M.S.; in Physics from Penn. State University. Dr. Miller obtained his M.S. in psychology from Pepperdine University in Los Angeles and his Ph.D in psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute near Santa Barbara.
